Does hearwhatisaY have a free plan?
Yes, we provide a Free Plan. After you register, you can subscribe to our Free Plan to start a meeting or to join a meeting. There is no cost to join a meeting. With our Free Plan, the User has 30 minutes for hosting a meeting included for the first month. After the first month the Free Plan User can continue joining meetings for free, or subscribes to a Paid Plan to host their own meetings.
How accurate are hearwhatisaY translations?
The hearwhatisaY app is one of the most accurate translation apps available today. The translation accuracy depends on many factors. If the person speaking has an accent, poor grammar, speech impediment or some other hinderance, the translation’s accuracy will suffer. The hearwhatisaY app is built for conversation between people who speak different languages. Conversation is dynamic and repeating phrases or clarifying your meaning during a conversation is normal at times.
How many people can join a meeting?
Each Paid Plan has limits on how many Listeners can join a meeting. You should review the Plans listed above or inside the hearwhatisaY app to see the number of people allowed to join a meeting. The Plans start with 1 and increase to 20. We also provide special usage plans for specific situations.
Is the app compatible with microphones?
Yes. Microphones and headsets that work with your phone will work with the app. We have a microphone available for presenters. Contact support at support@hearwhatisay.com.
Can I use hearwhatisaY for my students?
Absolutely! This is one of the primary purposes of the hearwhatisaY app. You can speak English, and your students can listen in Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese or any of over 50 other languages. They hear your instructions as you speak in English, but they also hear in their comfort language. This helps students learn faster. It is a game changer for classrooms.
Do my unused minutes roll forward to the next month?
No, all hosting minutes in all the hearwhatisaY app plans expire at the end of the billing cycle. Any User can downgrade to a plan with less minutes at any time. If a User needs more hosting minutes they can upgrade to a plan with more minutes at any time. If you deplete your hosting minutes before the billing cycle ends, you can always renew your plan.
Do others I communicate with need the app?
Yes, other users need the app in order to listen, speak or text. The app has a free plan which allows users to join a meeting and speak or listen. Meeting time is attributed to the meeting host account.
Can the app be used with a speaker system?
Yes. Bluetooth and other speakers compatible with your phone will work. Speakers make it convenient for a group of people in the same room need to hear the same translation.
